Precision, Control, Agility
Skill, precision and control will be essential to successfully complete this tractor agility course. Open to both professionals and students, in France and internationally, this challenge highlights the expertise of agricultural machinery operators in a technical, engaging and competitive environment.
The Tractor Driving Contest will take place on Thursday, December 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Vinitech-Sifel, as part of the Vinitech Games, at the Parc des Expositions - Bordeaux.
The contest is chaired by: Agri Cap Conduite
During this contest, 21 participants (6 pairs in the “Training” category and 9 competitors in the “Professionals” category) will take on a major challenge: operating vineyard machinery across several set courses.
Task 1: Hitching and unhitching an implement with a power take-off (PTO) in complete safety (10 minutes) :
One member carries out the coupling from the vineyard tractor while the other member of the pair couples the implement (PTO and third point) and adjusts it (tail depth, balance, alignment and centering). The pair must communicate to facilitate the manoeuvre. For uncoupling, the roles are reversed.
Task 2: Perform a forward and reverse manoeuver whilst cornering, in a vineyard tractor with a trailer (10 minutes) :
One member will drive the tractor forwards whilst the other member of the pair gives advice from a distance. The pair will then swap roles for reversing. The course includes bends.
Task 1: Precision driving of a tractor with a trailer (10 minutes):
A complex course with bends, to be completed as quickly as possible whilst keeping the tractor on a straight course and reversing on certain sections.
Task 2: Hilling exercise (10 minutes)
Task 3: Weeding exercise (10 minutes)
The Vinitech Games Tractor Driving Contest is the perfect opportunity to showcase your skills and experience a unique event at the very heart of the trade show.

INTERCO Nouvelle-Aquitaine : Supporting International Visibility
As the international cooperation agency of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Council, INTERCO coordinated the organization of the Vinitech Games in collaboration with Vinitech-Sifel and all project partners. The agency also implemented initiatives to make the contest accessible to international participants. Competitors will therefore have the opportunity to challenge professionals and students from around the world, broadening their technical knowledge and professional perspectives.
AgroCampus Bordeaux Gironde is a public agricultural education institution bringing together four secondary schools, apprenticeship and adult training centres, and vineyard operations across the Gironde region. Deeply rooted in its territory and committed to supporting the evolution of agriculture-related professions, the institution naturally partnered with Vinitech-Sifel to develop contests that promote knowledge transfer and innovation within the wine and winegrowing sector.
AgroCampus Bordeaux Gironde is also involved as a partner in the VitiREV project and leads the NAVI project.
NAVI (Nouvelle-Aquitaine Viticulture Innovation) is a project designed to accelerate the adaptation of training programmes and professions within the wine industry in response to climate, demographic and economic transitions. As part of this mission, NAVI has chosen to support the Tractor Driving Contest, an initiative that highlights a profession essential to the success and sustainability of the sector.
