    >> Some market insights for Switzerland

    • Total area: ~14,600 ha of vineyards, ~2,500 producers (mostly small family-owned estates)
    • Annual production: ~100 million litres of wine
    • Grape distribution: 56% red (Pinot Noir, Gamay, Merlot), 44% white (mainly Chasselas)
    • Diversity: 252 authorised grape varieties, 36% indigenous (Chasselas, Petite Arvine, Cornalin…)
    • Main regions: Valais (32%), Vaud (25%), Geneva, Ticino, Three-Lakes, German-speaking Switzerland
    • Viticultural context: terraced vineyards and steep slopes ('heroic viticulture'), altitude 200–1,100 m

The Swiss vineyard, fragmented, terraced and quality-oriented, creates a demand for equipment adapted to small plots, steep slopes and precision winemaking. The shift towards sustainability and premiumisation opens opportunities for innovative, low-input equipment that enhances the premium image of Swiss wines.

Looking back at the Vinitech Innovation Tour – VITINORD in Vilnius, Lithuania

    December 3 to 6, 2025

The VITINORD 2025 prospecting mission in Lithuania, part of the Vinitech Innovation Tour, successfully concluded after a week-long immersion focused on Nordic wine markets. It highlighted French innovations adapted to cold climates and the development opportunities in these regions.

Conferences, visits, and demonstrations addressed climate adaptation, resistant grape varieties, sustainable practices, and the economic challenges of wines from emerging regions. French stakeholders such as SLPA and Terra Mea presented their solutions.

This mission confirmed the strong potential of Nordic markets and opened the door to new collaboration opportunities between local and French professionals.
