The VENTIGEL frost protection system was designed and developed by our company, SETAG, in collaboration with winegrowers from the Bordeaux region for the VENTIGEL V3C, and with fruit growers from the Tarn-et-Garonne region for the trailer-mounted VENTIGEL V5 (new for 2026), in order to address the challenges posed by late frosts and the specific constraints of each crop.
Our system works as follows:
The primary objective of VENTIGEL™ is to ventilate sufficiently early using a powerful jet of forced air, thereby drying out the plots and preventing the formation of condensation on the plants.
It also allows for the redistribution of warm, rising air during a radiation freeze.
The second objective of VENTIGEL™ is to provide heat (using heaters that utilise 100 per cent of their energy) when temperatures continue to fall during the night.
Manufactured in France in Le Haillan (33), VENTIGEL™ is a practical, easy-to-use and effective solution that has no visual impact and produces very little noise.
